There’s so much going on with the women’s ministry and we’re excited about what God is doing here at NUBF.
The following overview will introduce you to our ministries and their leaders.
Benevolence
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – "So encourage each other and build each other up...".
With this scripture as our guide, our ministry's goal is to assure the women of NUBF that they are not alone as they navigate through life's joys, challenges and sorrows. We hope to offer practical, personal evidence of God's love and comfort through written words of encouragement, providing meals when needed, helping with transportation and by simply asking the question, "How can we help?"
Jamie Curry oversees this ministry. If you want to be put in touch with Jamie, please Contact us.
Bible Study
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God’s Word is spiritual nourishment, and to live without it means living spiritually deprived. We provide Bible study opportunities for women that accurately teach God’s Word and that will help stir up the wonder and application of His truths. It is our goal to provide a diversity of meeting times and teaching styles so you can find a place where you fit. Hope you’ll join us for the feast.
Bonnie Leon is our Bible study team leader. We will be glad to put you in touch with Bonnie and she’d love to hear from you. Feel free to Contact us.
Hospitality
1 Peter 4:10 - “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
When we show hospitality, we show the love of Jesus to others. Sunday mornings, the coffee and cakes that show up don’t happen by accident. It takes the combined efforts of people with servant hearts. They provide ingredients and bake the delicious breads and sweets offered on Sunday mornings. Coffee is brewed early before church begins and is set out. We also make sure tables are ready for special events such as our Body Life meetings. And afterward take care of clean up.
Mary Jo Aitken is our gracious leader. If you have a question or comment or would like to help, Contact us. Mary Jo would love to hear from you.
Janitorial Services
Matthew 23:11 - 12 - The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Where would we be without people willing to clean our church? We have a team of servants who clean windows and bathrooms, vacuum floors, make sure the kitchen and nursery are sanitary and a long list of other tasks that need to be done on a regular basis.
Wendy Harris oversees our team of volunteer workers (and you don't have to be a woman to help out). If you'd like to talk with Wendy, just Contact us.
Nursery Care
Luke 18:16 - Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
We have an excellent program for our little ones. Our list of nursery helpers is impressive. There are nurses, family nurse practitioners, day care providers, as well as experienced mothers and grandmothers care for our precious little ones so parents can enjoy church services without worry or distraction. The children are checked in and checked out, provided with snacks and a variety of toys and comforted with loving arms. Every adult volunteer has been hand picked and we have also performed a background check just to make sure that parents can know their children are safe.
Mary Jo Aitken supervises the nursery. You can contact us if you have questions, comments or want to help out.
Prayer
2nd Corinthians 10:4 – The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
Even Moses needed backup from Aaron and Hur when he was doing battle with a fierce enemy (Exodus 17) in order to win the day. Why then should we not ask for help when we’re facing our enemies? We all have them, health issues, financial strains, family concerns, relationships, whatever; we all have things that seem to overwhelm us. That’s what your NUBF Prayer Team is here for, to agree with you and “Amen” whatever you’re praying, to help prop up your faith when it wanes, to perhaps offer another perspective on a situation, or just to listen and pray with you about whatever your burden may be. You can contact us at the church at any time. We will pray with you. We will pass along your request to our prayer ministry leader who will share your it the whole prayer team if that is what you would like. Amen and Amen.
Lois Mai, a prayer warrior, oversees our prayer ministry. If you would like to speak to Lois, Contact us.
Special Events
Romans 12:12 &13a – Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Practice hospitality.
Gathering together for fun and fellowship is all about community. It is our desire to build a community built on Christ that provides opportunities to build friendships, to love one another, to honor one another, practice hospitality and to encourage each other through friendships and prayer. When we gather together, God is at work in us and through us.
Darlene Hall, our creative and hard working sister in the Lord heads up this ministry. Contact us if you'd like to reach Darlene.
Listening Sisters
Galatians 6:2 –“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
It is our heart to be a listening, caring and supportive ear for the women of North Umpqua Bible Fellowship. We want you to know that no one is alone. We’re here to listen, pray together, explore God’s word and encourage those in the midst of difficult times.
Terrie Bailey, is our fearless leader in this ministry. Contact us.
Grace and peace to you from God.
It’s a wonderful gift to be part of God’s family. We look forward to getting to know you better and to serve our Lord alongside you.

Matthew 23:11 says, The greatest among you will be your servant.
We are to serve one another. God has equipped us with natural abilities and spiritual gifts for that purpose. We need each other and the women’s ministry team needs you. If you see a place of service that interests you please contact a ministry leader and let them know. They’d love to hear from you.
